Al-Anon
offers understanding and support for families and friends of problem drinkers, whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not. Alateen
is part of Al-Anon, focusing on a program of recovery for teenagers, 12 through 19, who have been affected by someone else's drinking,
usually that of a parent or sibling.
The
parents, children, spouses, friends and colleagues of those afflicted by the disease of alcoholism can all be helped by Al-Anon and
Alateen whether or not the drinker in their lives recognizes that a problem exists.
In
Al-Anon, we believe that alcoholism is a family disease, and that help can be found for the entire family through the Al-Anon 12-step
program.
If
you are concerned about someone's drinking, or your life has been affected by someone's abuse of drinking alcoholic beverages, we
encourage you to browse our site for more information about our recovery program. If you are presently an Al-Anon or Alateen member, or
a professional working in the field of alcoholism, there may be items of interest to you on this Al-Anon website.
The
SAAIS serves as the focal point for information regarding Al-Anon and Alateen meetings, events, and the availability of
conference-approved literature. The SAAIS, San Antonio Texas Al-Anon Information Service, maintains an Al-Anon Information Hotline phone
service to provide a ready source of information to those new to the program or our community. There is also a PO Box and email address
to receive confidential requests that are channeled to the nearest Al-Anon groups.
The
San Antonio Al-Anon / Alateen Information Service, SAAIS, also sponsors a monthly Al-Anon Speaker's meeting. This provides a forum for
members of Al-Anon and AA to express the recovery they have been privileged to enjoy by sharing their experience, strength and hope with
others.
We
understand as few others can. In keeping with the Twelfth Tradition of Al-Anon that states, "Anonymity is the spiritual foundation
of all our Traditions, ever reminding us to place principles above personalities", your inquiry is always kept confidential and
anonymous.

Al-Anon

Let It Begin With Me -
When
anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help,
let
the hand of Al-Anon and Alateen always be there,
and
Let It Begin With Me.
